Charity Fishing Competition at Stone End Farm, Corse

On the 5th & 6th May 2012, a two day event was hosted by Richard & Richard (P.O.), owners of the farm, who allowed the regular caravanners to enter into a fishing competition.  Each Angler had to be sponsored for approximately £100!  The Angler who raised the most sponsorship received a carved Carp fish that was donated by John Moss of Moss Art, near Ledbury.   Over the two days, the Anglers were treated to a cooked breakfast and lunch by the House Pool along with a few cheeky drinks!   Evening entertainment was organised by P.O. and all the lady caravanners brought along a food platter to share on the Saturday evening whilst being entertained by a live band.    The two day fishing competition was competitive amongst the Anglers.  Saturday Pole results:  1st Place - Dave Tyler - 63lbs, 2nd Place - Wayne Panting - 57lbs & 11oz and 3rd Place - Dwane Evans - 40lbs & 12oz.    Sunday Rod results: 1st Place - Graham Astill - 92lbs & 11oz, 2nd Place - C.J. - 60lbs & 4oz and 3rd Place - Tony Hawkings - 43lbs & 6oz.     The heaviest weight was won by Graham Astill of 92lbs & 11oz.   The Angler to win the carved carp fish was Wayne Saunders raising £325!!!  The weekend was a huge success achieving a grand total of £4,217.38 for The ELY Memorial Fund.

Me & Steve would like to say a huge "THANK YOU" to every caravanner at Stone End Farm and especially Richard & Richard for their time and effort to making it a wonderful event.   To all the said be "Cooks" who served up a tremendous breakfast for us all, you did a fantastic job!!   Lastly, special thanks to Wayne Saunders who supplied the Anglers with team "ELY" t-shirts, which was a lovely surprise for me & Steve.  Tears of sadness to our Em and tears of joy for a special group of friends that we have met and supported us since our Em past away.   Thank you!
