We’re thrilled to announce the return of the ELY Memorial Fund Young Driver Education Programme, running from 20th to 24th July 2026! Tickets are now available to book, but be quick, places fill fast on our flagship event!
This inspiring and educational programme is designed for young people aged 14-17 who want to gain vital driving skills and road safety awareness. With a fantastic line-up of practical sessions, engaging workshops, and expert advice, this is a must-attend event for young drivers looking to build confidence behind the wheel.

About Our Young Driver Experience
The Young Driver Experience gives 14-17 year olds the opportunity to drive a car with instructors from ‘Go Driving’ around a controlled course laid out at the rear of Herefordshire, Ludlow and North Shropshire College.
The day comprises of:
2 hours of driving
delivered by Go Driving
Basic car maintenance
delivered by Oldfields Garage
Basic road side first aid
delivered by Hereford First Aid
A demonstration of the effects of drink and drugs
delivered by Hereford Police

We’re proud to partner with Minerva Elite Performance (MEP) to deliver our Young Driver Experience programme across Herefordshire.
MEP’s expertise in education and personal development makes them an ideal supporter of this vital road safety initiative. Their sponsorship helps us reach more young people aged 14+ through workshops and awareness campaigns — encouraging safe, responsible driving from the very beginning.
Event Details
Open to children aged 14-17
A safe introduction to driving, giving them an early start in building essential skills.
£30* per person
Including lunch and refreshments! Plus all the proceeds go towards supporting our charity!
On the day
Registration will begin at 8.45-9am in the car park off Whittern Way and the day runs until 4pm.

(due to insurance requirements numbers are limited for 14-year-olds, please only book your 14-year-old onto the event using the correct ticket type)
