Unbeaten Season Glory for Lads Club U15s as They Lift Bill Bowkett Cup

The ELY Memorial Fund is delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of Hereford Lads Club U15 Phoenix, who have capped off a remarkable season by lifting the Bill Bowkett Cup.

Sponsoring the team throughout the season, ELY has been proud to support a truly special group of young players who have now completed an unbeaten league campaign and secured a memorable cup final victory to complete the double.

In the final at Wellington FC, the match was always expected to be a tense encounter, with the Phoenix side making their third final appearance in as many years. However, an early breakthrough helped settle nerves, as a superb corner from Albie was powerfully headed home by Alex to give Lads Club the lead. Despite controlling much of the possession and creating further chances before half-time, Bromyard remained firmly in the contest, with determined defending and excellent goalkeeping keeping the scoreline tight. A clear half-time message to stay patient and confident in possession saw Lads Club return to the pitch with renewed composure, moving the ball effectively and creating space in wide areas.

Their persistence paid off in the second half, with a second goal arriving following pressure in the final third, before further goals from Rory (2) and George sealed a convincing finish to the game. The final whistle confirmed what has been an exceptional achievement - an entire season unbeaten and a well-deserved cup triumph for a talented and committed team.

A spokesperson for the club described the group as “an incredible team and a joy to watch from start to finish,” highlighting their consistency, spirit, and togetherness throughout the campaign.
