The ELY Memorial Fund is dedicated to supporting families in Herefordshire who have tragically lost a young loved one, between the ages of 17 and 25, in a road traffic collision. Our mission is to provide education on road safety and compassionate care, financial assistance through two key initiatives:
Young Driver Education: We are committed to preventing future tragedies by educating young drivers aged 14-17 through our Young Driver Experience events. These programs equip young people with vital road safety skills and awareness with the aim of reducing collisions on our roads.
Financial and Compassionate Assistance: We offer immediate support with our 'Hugs Pack', providing up to £3,000 towards funeral costs, alongside guidance and resources to help families navigate this difficult time.
Together, and in collaboration with likeminded charities, we strive to support families in their darkest moments and work towards creating safer roads for everyone.
The Charity was set up in memory of Emma Louise Young (E.L.Y.). Emma tragically lost her life on the 30th September 2010 in a road traffic collision. She was just 23 and our only daughter. Our shining light went out that night changing our lives forever.
