7 June 2026 - Canoe the Wye Challenge

Paddle. Hike. Climb. Make a Difference.

On Sunday 7 June 2026, we’re taking on an unforgettable outdoor challenge in support of the The ELY Memorial Fund and we’re looking to complete our team of 12 people, ready to push themselves while raising funds for our charity’s mission.

This one-day adventure challenge will see our team canoe, hike and climb through the spectacular scenery of the Wye Valley, all while raising vital funds to support bereaved families and young driver education.

If you enjoy the outdoors, love a challenge, or want to do something meaningful with friends or colleagues…this one’s for you.

The Challenge

This multi-activity adventure combines canoeing and hiking across one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.

🚣 Canoe the River Wye

Our journey begins at Kerne Bridge, where Team ELY will paddle 8 miles down the River Wye to Symonds Yat West.

Working together in Canadian canoes, we’ll navigate the river while enjoying stunning scenery along the way.

🥾 Hike to King Arthur’s Cave

After landing, the challenge continues with a 6-mile hike through woodland and hills towards King Arthur's Cave.

⛰ Reach the Summit at Symonds Yat Rock

The final push will take our team up to Symonds Yat Rock, one of the most iconic viewpoints in the region, before descending to Symonds Yat East where the challenge finishes.

Celebrate our achievement together and enjoy well-earned food and drinks afterwards.

What You’ll Achieve

By taking part, you’ll be helping The ELY Memorial Fund continue its vital work:

💙 Supporting families who have lost loved ones
🚗 Delivering young driver education and road safety initiatives
🤝 Raising awareness to help prevent future tragedies

Every step you take and every pound you raise helps make a real difference.

Fundraising Target

To take part, we ask each participant to commit to raising a minimum of £500 for The ELY Memorial Fund.

Don’t worry, we’ll support you with:

A personal fundraising page
Fundraising ideas and guidance
Social media resources to help spread the word
Support from the charity team

Together, our team of 12 plan to raise £6,000 or more to support the charity’s work.
