‘Your Impact’ Initiative
Your Impact is a free multi‐agency road safety initiative aimed at reducing death and serious injury amongst young road users in Herefordshire. Their events demonstrate a range of road safety including a road traffic collision reconstruction, literature as well as practical interactive workshops. The scheme is aimed at Year 11 students who will currently be car passengers and soon become young drivers.
Some words from our Charity Manager, Ange Tyler, on our partnership with Your Impact
“I am honoured to be part of this amazing team, who deliver the workshops for students across Herefordshire.
They present hard hitting facts of road safety, by showing specially created videos of road traffic collisions and how the Fire Service deals with such situations. They are helped by West Mercia Police and Ambulance Crew. Together they are "Golden Angels" on our County roads where the first hour is critical to keep casualties alive. Other workshops involve drink/drug driving, seat belt, speeding, passenger distraction and ambulance crew.
At the end of the workshops in Herefordshire, myself and Chris Lea (former Family Liaison Officer) conclude with the ‘#journey’ - the impact of losing a loved one in a road traffic collision. The ripple effect of losing Emma continues every day, I share my journey in the hope that our young drivers will stay safe on our County roads in order to reduce fatal road collisions.”
